Welcome to nysti.org, celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the creation of the Theatre Institute. Our season on stage is, as always, complemented and enhanced by exciting educational opportunities.
We are a professional, educational regional theatre, and proud of our history of award-winning theatre for family audiences and our extensive education programs for both schools and individuals. NYSTI’s mission includes a firm commitment to developing new plays and musicals, and throughout the years, we have produced forty-five premieres – most of which we have originated. Many of our works have continued on to other regional theatres, major performing arts centers, Off-Broadway and Broadway, been produced as audiobooks, and published by Samuel French, Inc.
We are dedicated to fostering international cultural exchange. NYSTI has performed in Moscow, London, Israel, Jordan, Italy, Canada, France, and Sweden, and we have welcomed companies and artists from those and many other countries.
There is always something exciting, entertaining, and educational happening at NYSTI. Please join us for our performances and educational programs – we look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
